Our Children Learn to Grow Plants and Harvest

On Sunday, some of the children of our Church Family participated in a community garden event.  Gail Ogdon, chair of the Missions Committee, tells us about it:

GardenWork20140727"It was a beautiful afternoon for a Garden Party!  We started by discussing the four things needed to grow plants - rich soil, fresh air, water and sunshine.  Then we used the garden map to take a tour and identify all the different veggies growing in the community garden.  There are zucchini, green and yellow beans, tomatoes, eggplant, squash, beets, onions, cucumber, green peppers and a few different types of greens and herbs.  After our tour, we got to work finding and pulling many weeds.  Next, we harvested green and yellow beans that were donated to the food pantry today.  Lastly, we watered the garden.  A wonderful time spent in the Garden on Church Street seeing God's beautiful miracle at work."    - Gail Ogdon
