Holy Week begins with a very moving Palm Sunday service on April 9 at 10 a.m. Often referred to as Passion Sunday, the service will begin with a children’s palm procession reenacting Jesus’ triumphal entrance into Jerusalem. We will follow the journey through the Holy Week stories with the choir singing the very beautiful “Requiem” by John Rutter. The choir will be accompanied by organ, piano, oboe, flute, cello and piano. Our own Carina Kanzler will sing the solos in “Pie Jesu” and “Lux Aeterna”, and Lisa Weiser-Janisch will play cello for the haunting “Out of the Deep” movement. Dan Hennel, piano, Margie Arito, oboe, and Mary-Christine Stingley, flute, are our instrumentalists for this very moving service.
