The Green Team has been formed as a new ministry team to work on issues and projects to help our congregation and our community become more environmentally aware and make some changes to become more energy-efficient. The goal is to make us a leader in our faith and in our community in implementing and sharing ideas to better protect the world the Lord has blessed us with.
The Tree of Life Green Team seeks to:

Memorial Day Parade

St. Patrick's Day Parade
First Congregational United Church of Christ marched in the 2010 and 2011 Memorial Day and St. Patrick's Day Parades in Elmhurst. The church's "Green Team" organized our participation and gave it a purpose beyond having fun. Our contingent marched at the very end of the parade picking up recyclable cans and bottles that were left behind by parade-goers. Our "Clutter Bug" was a major hit with both kids and adults along the parade route.
