The season of Advent is a wonderful time for personal growth as we prepare our hearts for Christmas. This year’s Advent Study is titled Faithful: Christmas through the Eyes of Joseph.

You are cordially invited to join the Rev. Dr. Michael Daly, Rev. John Gibbon, and Martha Mendoza as they team up to lead us in the studies. Each session is unique to itself, and stands alone, so attending all four is not required, but welcomed.

Books are available in the foyer or church office for $10.00.

A bread & soup dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. The studies start at 7:00 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m.

November 29th – December 6th -  December 13th – December 20th

Welcoming Our New Pastor

We are so excited to be welcoming the Reverend Dr. Michael Daly to First Congregational UCC of Elmhurst. This Sunday, October 22nd, Rev. Daly will be leading us in worship for the first time as our called Minister.
It is our hope that you will be a part of our 10:00 a.m. service to receive and welcome Rev. Daly. We are so grateful for all that the Lord is doing among us here at First Congregational and ask for your participation in worship as we embark in a new ministry journey.

Our Children's Sunday School   
          
Provides youngsters age appropriate teaching and activities that connect the sacred stories of the Bible with their own lives. This Sunday we will be learning from the Gospel of Matthew on the many ways to honor God by giving back.

An Authentic Tostada Luncheon
Immediately after worship our Youth and their Parents are hosting a delicious tostada lunch to raise funds for our 2018 Summer Mission Work Trip to the Island of Puerto Rico.
Your participation at this Youth Ministry Fundraiser will not just be delicious, but will help our Youth meet their financial goal.

Join Us This Sunday, October 15th

Join us this Sunday, October 15th in a community of worship. Together we will delve into the sacred scriptures from Philippians with the Reverend John Gibbon who will be leading us in a morning reflection titled " With Humility and In Unity".
Following Jesus' teachings about heaven being compared to a wonderful party where everything is ready and all are invited to enjoy, our Children's Sunday School Ministry is carrying out a party that your children are invited to.
 
 The fun begins at 10:00 am in the sanctuary.

This Sunday, September 17th we will be kicking off our
Children's Sunday School Ministry.
We hope that you will bring your children to the sacred space we call Sunday School where children of all ages explore bible stories. This year's theme is
Making Faith Connections.
This Sunday we will be learning from the biblical story from Genesis
of Joseph and how God is always working for good.
Our service will be led by the Reverend John Gibbon.
Lets never stop learning about God's power of good works in each of us.

September 10th Youth Led Worship 10:00 a.m.

During our 10:00 a.m. worship our youth will be leading our service. Our morning theme from Galatians 6:10 is "Let us work for the good of all".
Through singing, music, reflection, and a special presentation, we will be up-lifting our Summer Mission Work Trip to New Orleans.
We hope that you will join us as we give thanks to God for our Youth Ministry.

Join us for our Youth Led Worship Service September 10th

As we enter into the month of September, we would like to extend a special invitation to you and yours.
On Sunday, September 10, our church's youth will be leading us in worship.
Many of our youth have been rehearsing songs, writing prayers, preparing morning reflections, and practicing special readings.
Please save the date and plan on being a part of our 10:00 a.m. worship service on September 10th.
As part of the worship service, there will be a presentation highlighting this Summer's Mission Work Trip to New Orleans. Our morning theme is from Galatians 6:10
"Let us work for the Good of all".

Women’s Spiritual Growth Gathering

This Friday, August 25, our church is carrying out a Women's Gathering. This event has been carefully planned for the women of our church and their friends.
It is our hope that you will join us this coming Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the church parlor. Our guest speaker is the Reverend Deborah Jarvis. She will be addressing us on the importance of our everyday spiritual walk, at every phase of our lives.
This gathering is for women of all ages. We hope you and your friends will come and enjoy delicious appetizers, and refresh your spirit.
